What is this project?

This project aims to be a permanent portal to a decentralized digital version of the Holy Quran. Decentralized cloud hosting is just like the regular cloud, except that the responsibility of hosting data is spread over the entire network of participants, rather than a central server. Hosting the Holy Quran on decentralized networks means that no one organization or person has full control over its contents, which makes it impossible to edit or alter.

Why is decentralization needed?

Currently, digital versions of the Holy Quran are hosted on centralized servers that are owned by private entities. The integrity of the original Quranic text is subject to the mercy of the server owners. These centralized servers create a single point-of-failure for any ill-intentioned party to alter the Quran or take the server offline alltogether. Decentralizing the Holy Quran is the next crucial step in securing and preserving it.
